Air de Paris present photography works by Dorothy Iannonne ( 1933, Boston - 2022, Berlin ).
...For many years now, Dorothy Iannone has been investigating through her visual work, her books and her records, the world of love and loving-styles. In her original (re)-search, she skillfully blends imagery and text, beauty and truth. She is a freedom fighter, and a forceful and dedicated artist. Her aim is no less than human liberation.
Marcelle Alix present photography works by Donna Gottschalk ( b. in 1949 ).
Donna Gottschalk grew up in the Tenement Houses of New York's Lower East Side. As a teenager, she attended the High School of Art and Design and began to frequent the city's gay and lesbian nightlife (Kooki's, Paula's, and Colony bars), which at the time was extremely dangerous and controlled by the Mafia. She produced posters and political documents, and photographed LGBTQI activist groups from the age of 17, when she joined the Gay Liberation Front (GLF). She appears with the sign "I am your worst fear / I am your best fantasy" in the famous image taken by photojournalist Diana Davies (b. 1938) in 1970 at the first gay and lesbian demonstration, Christopher Street Day in New York, celebrating the first anniversary of the Stonewall uprising. She met the photographer Joan E. Biren (JEB, born 1944) at the Black Panther Party convention to which Angela Davis had invited the GLF. JEB appears in many of D. Gottschalk's photographs at the time.
Galerie Sultana present works by Nanténé Traoré and Jesse Darling.
After studying literature, a DNAP at the Nantes School of Fine Arts, numerous trips and various professional experiences, Nanténé chose to devote himself to writing and photography, in parallel with his militant activities in the queer milieu.
Mixing texts and images, his numerous series of silver photographs oscillate between documentary traces of the environments he works with, and poetic journeys where multiple stories of love and life can be read.
He regularly collaborates with various feminist and queer collectives and magazines, around words or images.
